CONDUCTIVE PRIMERS FOR ELECTRODEPOSITION COATINGS To electroplate or coat plastic materials with powder paint or metal, a conductive primer coating needs to be applied to the plastic first. KIA has smooth finish conductive coatings that can be applied to rigid or semi-rigid plastics. Due to its
exceptional smoothness, coated parts exhibit better DOI or PGD than other
conductive primers, coatings, or paints. Our E-coatable coatings or primer paints can be applied to almost any type of plastic substrate to achieve excellent surface finish on finished products. Many primers are in use for promoting transfer efficiency of electrostatically applied coatings. The surface conductivity of these primers are in the range of 70-165 units as measured by a Ransburg meter. The maximum reading of 165 translates to a resistance reading of 10 to the 6th power - 10 to the 7th power ohms per square. All of our conductive primers can be fine tuned to have any range of surface resistance from <10 to the 2nd power to 10 to the 9th power ohms per square. E-COATABLE PRIMERS MUST HAVE SURFACE RESISTANCE OF 200 OHMS PER SQUARE OR LESS. WE HAVE IN OUR WKSB-19-601 THE ONLY E-COATABLE PRIMER ON THE MARKET.
